Biography

Minister Peggy is a faithful member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Richmond, CA where Dr. Kevin B. Hall is her pastor. With over 35 years of Christian Education experience, she currently serves in the staff position of Minister of Christian Education, where she oversees the educational arm of ministry at both the North and South Campuses. With a heart for God and educating God’s people, Min. Peggy has accomplished much by way of laying the foundation for further knowledge at St. John. In addition to teaching and counseling, she is the Registrar for the St. John School of Theology.

Before retiring in 2010, Minister Peggy was blessed with 37 illustrious years in the banking industry where she held various positions from Branch Manager, National Training Officer, as well as Cash Management Sales Manager for Northern California.

Minister Peggy attended Alabama State University in Montgomery Alabama and is a graduate of Golden Gate Baptist Seminary in Mill Valley, California. Earning various degrees and certificates, Minister Peggy is a gifted and sought-after speaker in both the secular and faith-based communities. She is a regular speaker at the National Association for Church Business Administrators (NACBA), where she trained Church Business Administrators in Deposits and Cash Management. She is a member of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) and a former member of American Business Women Association (ABWA). Most recently she has been featured on a weekly radio show where she ends the show with the “Inspiration Thought of the Week.”

Recently widowed after 22 years of marriage, she is the mother of one son, Selmar (Antionette) and one grandson Selmar, IV. Min. Peggy is an avid reader, enjoys playing racquetball, bowling and traveling. Her favorite quotes are “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care” as well as “Say what you mean, mean what you say, but don’t be mean when you say it. However, her Life-Scripture can be found in the passage of Romans 8:28. When asked why she chose this scripture, she replied, “I know that whatever happens to me, for me and through me in this life will ultimately be for my good and God’s glory.”
